Original steps

  1. Boil the sweet potatoes and mash them thoroughly with a fork.
  2. Grease a Pyrex dish with butter or melted ghee, then spread half of the mashed sweet potatoes, ensuring no gaps are left.
  3. Layer the nuts on top along with half of the cinnamon and half of the coconut.
  4. Spread the remaining half of the sweet potatoes on top, then sprinkle with the rest of the nuts, coconut, and cinnamon, add the piece of butter, and place in the oven.
  5. Prepare a syrup by mixing the sugar, water, lemon, and vanilla, stirring until it becomes somewhat thick.
  6. Once the sweet potatoes are removed from the oven, pour the syrup over them and let them cool.
  7. You can garnish with sliced bananas or grated carrots and more nuts.
