Original steps

  1. Add the salt, fennel, and anise to the flour.
  2. Make a well in the center of the flour and place the sesame seeds inside.
  3. Heat the ghee and pour it into the well, then stir well with a wooden spoon until the temperature cools, rub well by hand, then add the sugar and rub together.
  4. Rub the yeast with a little sugar until it dissolves, then add a little warm water, then add it to the flour and knead well while gradually adding warm water until the dough becomes somewhat firm.
  5. Cover the dough and leave it to ferment.
  6. Cut the dough and shape into equal-sized rounds.
  7. Prepare a baking sheet lightly dusted with flour, place the dough on it, brush the tops with melted ghee, and leave to ferment again.
  8. Bake in a medium-heat oven until done.
