Original steps

  1. Combine the sugar, water, and lemon juice over low heat; once the sugar has dissolved and the mixture thickens slightly, add the butter while the color is still pale.
  2. Stir continuously until the mixture turns yellow or slightly darker.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and arrange the pieces of cooked pineapple or peaches (khoshaf) inside according to your preference.
  4. Leave the pan until it cools and the caramel sets.
