- 800 g cooked fava beans (2 cans, with liquid)
- 100 ml water
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1½ tsp ground cumin
- ¾ tsp salt
- juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tomato, diced
- a handful of parsley, chopped

Steps
- Crush the garlic to a paste.
- Warm the beans with the water in a covered pot over medium-low heat, stirring gently, until a probe in the centre reads 75 °C.
- Mash part of the beans for a creamier texture, if you like.
- Stir in the garlic, cumin, salt, lemon juice and olive oil; taste and adjust.
- Dice the tomato.
- Top with tomato and parsley.
- Serve hot with bread.
