Original steps

  1. Sort the rice and wash it thoroughly several times.
  2. Heat the ghee or oil and add a little vermicelli until it turns golden brown.
  3. Add the cup of water, salt, and a tablespoon of vinegar if desired, and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the rice to the boiling water until it is fully absorbed, then reduce the heat to very low, cover, and leave for about half an hour, stirring occasionally until cooked.
  5. The rice can be cooked without vermicelli.
