Original steps

  1. Sauté the peas and carrots in butter, then add about 2 cups of water or broth and leave on low heat until nearly cooked.
  2. Fry a small minced onion in oil and pour it over the peas, then add enough broth or water to cover the rice, along with salt.
  3. Add the rice to the peas and cook on low heat until tender.
