Original steps

  1. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds, grease a Pyrex dish with oil, and place half of the potatoes in it.
  2. Heat the milk to the same volume as the potatoes and season it with salt and pepper.
  3. Pour some of the hot milk over the potatoes, then add the shredded cheese.
  4. Layer the remaining potatoes, pour the rest of the milk over them, and top with more shredded cheese.
  5. Place in a medium-heat oven with 1 tablespoon of oil or ghee, and cover until cooked through.
