For investors, entrepreneurs, philanthropies and development banks

The standard is free; the services around it are a business; the humanitarian layer is a public good that development funders can back with pre-registered evaluation. No financial promises are made anywhere on this site.

Why it matters to you

Two entities: a foundation that holds the specification, the name and the mark, royalty-free forever; and a company that sells test-lab services, hub software, consented datasets, registry operations and pilots; certificates come from independent third parties. Free for relief use under the current licences; the foundation charter will bind this. Funding is tied to gates in the action plan, with kill rules written down. Users, partners, pilots and revenue today: zero; the site says so on every page that could imply otherwise.

Ways in, light to deep

  1. Read. The opportunity, business model, roadmap with status, risks and governance on the investors page; the whitepaper's problem, architecture and risk sections; the action plan's 30-item concern register.
  2. Fund a review. Envelopes, rule packs or a data-protection assessment; the result is published.
  3. Fund a pilot. Under the pre-registered protocol with an independent evaluator.
  4. Back the company. Separated from the public good; pricing is the founder's decision.
  5. Join governance. As a funder observer when the committee forms.

First success, under 15 minutes

Read the whitepaper's sections 1, 5 and 14 (problem, architecture, risks) and the concern register. Every open risk is listed; nothing is hidden because it is unflattering.

The path after that

  1. Evidence (reviews, pilots, conformance, adopters) → gates → funding tied to gates → foundation for the standard, company for services
